SOLVED: DEBUG & WARN Rename - failed to open stream

Postby pvanbeek » Mon Jan 22, 2018 8:01 am

When trying to copy a file onto my server last night, I received an "insufficient space" error. Upon further inspection, I discovered that my LZ is full - appears the files are not moving to the proper GH storage location.

I haven't changed my configuration, so not sure what is going on. Any help is appreciated.

Tried fsck - no success. I have attached a copy/paste from the greyhole --logs so you can see the errors/messages.

Thanks,
Phil

There is nothing attached to the post. Can you please use fpaste and provide the URL so we can see the errors. Don't want them in the post as it will likely be too lengthy.

Likely there is something not properly configured with Greyhole. Did you use the greyhole-ui App or install it manually?

I configured it manually a few years back and it has been working since install. Sorry for the lack of attachment - new to fpaste, but I think this is the link:

Please provide the URL for the following command on your HDA:

Code: Select all

apaste --sysinfo

apaste returned a JSON error, so I used fpaste.

/mnt/hdd3/gh/Movies/Joseph
Does this folder exist or the permissions set correctly? The error seems to indicate it does not.

BTW, we stopped supporting Fedora 19 / Amahi 7 years ago. You might consider upgrading to the latest version, Fedora 25 / Amahi 10.

We can only provide limited support for such an old version.

Yes and no - the folder exists, but I changed the name in the original fpaste for privacy (apologies for any confusion). We just create new folders within the share from Windows machines, as needed, and copy files into the new directory, so my assumption is that GH is establishing the proper permissions. I have not even logged into my machine for the last few months - just use it as a file repository. Based on the file copy dates, this error just "popped up" around November 2017.

Understood on the support issue - my machine has been stable for the last few years, so no real need to upgrade. And I would be happy to upgrade (even exchanged a few emails with CPG about this), but my takeaway was that there was no direct upgrade path (i.e., no guarantee of success), and I would basically have to start from scratch.

Ok no worries.

Recommend you check the permissions for the Movies share. Ensure they are set properly in all subfolders, then restart Greyhole.

If that does not do it, then we'll have to do further diagnosis.

Permissions look good. I also stopped and restarted greyhole and then am in the middle of a greyhole --fsck. Looks like some bad news in there... I am seeing all sorts of warnings with respect to hdd3 and hdd4. They appear to be offline or have failed completely. That said, GH should find open space on another drive to store the files, shouldn't it?

Could the failures be related to GH not moving files from the LZ?

Looks like I might be rebuilding my server afterall!

Might try removing the drives with issues from the storage pool. Once done, restart Greyhole.

Providing the remains drives have space, files should get moved from the LZ.
