Postby Nighter » Tue Sep 30, 2014 3:31 pm

Hi all I hope you can help me ... My SSD with the LZ seems to be broken... What is the safest way to replace the disk? How can i rebuild all the links?
Sorry for the rare information but typing Long posts on an iPad is the hell...

What is the specific problem?

If you add a new OS disk, you should be able to reconnect your Greyhole drives.

Reconnect existing Greyhole storage pool

If it was me, I would not use a SSD. They offer little benefit to a home server in my opinion. I see greater benefit with a desktop OS, such as Windows.

OS is running fine as i have a separate Disk for the LZ which was mounted as /var/hda/lz. So in this case I would just connect the new Drive, but I need to rebuild all links and he folderstucture for the sambashares. The question is "how"..

You would need to manually recreate the folder structure and then run greyhole command line option to fix missing symlinks.

Code: Select all

greyhole -X
Any files on the LZ drive that were not replicated are lost if the drive failed.
