Hi,

Hope someone can help me here.

I am trying to update Greyhole on my Amahi 7 machine. Ir seems that I have both packages greyhole (0.9.35-1) and hda-greyhole (0.9.35-1). When I try to update greyhole I get following:

Code: Select all

Transaction check error: file /etc/cron.d/greyhole from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /etc/logrotate.d/greyhole from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /etc/rc.d/init.d/greyhole from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/bin/greyhole from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /etc/greyhole.conf from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/bin/greyhole-dfree from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/lib64/greyhole/greyhole-samba34.so from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/lib64/greyhole/greyhole-samba35.so from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/lib64/greyhole/greyhole-samba36.so from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/lib64/greyhole/greyhole-samba40.so from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/share/greyhole/USAGE from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/share/greyhole/greyhole.example.conf from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/share/greyhole/web-app/index.php from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/share/man/man1/greyhole-dfree.1.gz from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/share/man/man1/greyhole.1.gz from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64 file /usr/share/man/man5/greyhole.conf.5.gz from install of greyhole-0.9.60-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package hda-greyhole-0.9.35-1.x86_64
Should I delete one of the packages?

Thanks

How did this happen? Did you install manually install amahi-greyhole or the Greyhole UI app?

A while ago I followed the wiki guide to using a greyhole on early (at the time) version of amahi 7. it is possible that the guide asked to install greyhole however I do not remember. Have not touched it since.

Do you think I should remove one of the packages?

Greyhole works now, no user interface however

Well both should not be installed at the same time. Please provide the results of the following command (root user):

Code: Select all

yum list amahi-greyhole hda-greyhole

Ok, good so that shows only one is installed. Recommend you purchase and install the Greyhole UI app.
https://www.amahi.org/apps/greyhole-ui

If you prefer not to use the app, then do the following:

Code: Select all

yum clean metadata yum update hda-platform
Let me know if you see amahi-greyhole install. If it does not, then we will go to the next step.

It's best if you use the Greyhole UI app, but that is your choice.

I have installed greyhole UI app, ran

Code: Select all

yum clean metadata yum update hda-platform
and than
yum -y update (my system was fully updated already)
and I get:

Code: Select all

Ok.

Please post the Greyhole UI app portion of /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log file. I want to see if there are errors.

I asked you to do one of the two solutions, not both. It was either install the app or do the command line stuff.

So now, let's look at the log file. Then once I see what it reflects, we can move to the next step.

Ok, looks like we have an issue with the intall. That would explain the problem. Please do the

Code: Select all

yum list hda-greyhole amahi-greyhole
asn post the results here.
I am going to file a bug report on this problem so we can determine the root cause and prevent recurrence.
