Migrating 6/f14 to 7/f19 - Advice on order of doing things

Hi,
I had 3x2TB pooled disks in Amahi6. Two of them reported lots of bad sectors, so i took them out using the "greyhole-going" command.
I now have Amahi7 up and running on new harware. On my desk i have the surviving disk from Amahi6, and two new disks.
From reading the wiki and forum I think I understand what needs to be done is:
- install Greyhole
- recreate exactly the shares from Amahi6
- install / mount the surviving disk
- install / mount the new disks
- add old disk to pool
- add new disks to pool
1. What order should i do these steps?
2. Am I missing something?
Thanks
F

That sounds about right. The wiki guidance should be fairly accurate.
https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Fedora ... _migration
Although this is for Fedora to Ubuntu, it is relevant.
Here's another one that is good.

Thanks, I have read those links now but, since Greyhole must be installed manually, i cant figure out wether to install the greyhole software, or put the disks in first? Or, maby it doesn't matter?
Edit: Now reading your ansver again, I realise perhaps you ment the order i listed the steps seemed reasonable?
Cheers

No, not resolved due to other parts of life keeps me from spending time on computers these days. This might take some time, but please bear with me, i promise to report back.

Greyhole now up and running. Data from the old disk restored.
I chose to install / initiate the two fresh WD 2TB Red disks first. Then install greyhole and get it to run properly before introducing the old disk with data from Amahi6.
Got a little frustrated at first when i tried to run a fsck and nothing happened. I then tried:
Code: Select all
greyhole --fsck --find-orphaned-files
witch got things back in business.

... or maby not
Maby this should have been a new topic in another forum. Just say so if i should move it.
After starting to copy all my photos back on to greyhole, the greyhole daemon is constantly working an the hda goes down from time to time.
tail /var/log/greyhole.log:

I have moved the landinzone to "/home". Is that a problem? (Was the partition with most free space after automatic install)
Edit:
I'll make a new post following this: "
https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Greyho ... leshooting" if the above is not enough to resolve the problem ...

Need to look more into it, but I now suspect Microsoft SyncToy and Greyhole together caused the trouble.

Try FreeFileSync. That's what I use and have no issues. There's a portable version too.
