(SOLVED) 1 physical drive, 2 partitions seen as 2 greyhole..

Running Amahi / Greyhole on Ubuntu...Question for the team..

I'm not sure how this happened, but in replacing a couple of drives I realized that I have a single 2TB physical drive that has 2 partitions, a 1.5TB and a .5TB partition. I do not recall why I didn't delete these two partitions and recreate a single partition when it was inserted into my greyhole storage pool. Today, both of these partitions are seen as different "drives" in greyhole. The obvious issue I can see is that if I'm utilizing greyhole "drives" for data redundancy and this single physical drive fails and my 2 file copies are on these two greyhole "drives", I've lost my data.

So... what I'd like to do is a "greyhole --going" on the 500gb partition... I've read elsewhere, outside the amahi / greyhole ecosystem, that I can go into "disk utility" and delete the 500gb partition and then just extend the 1.5TB partition without data loss.

My questions for the team are:

Will this present any issues with greyhole and the data on my 1.5TB partition?
If not, what steps/precautions should I take in this process?

I would imagine I might want to stop the greyhole service after the "greyhole --going" is complete and just prior to using disk utility to delete the 500gb partition and extend the 1.5 TB partition... Should I then unmount all drives, edit fstab, remount the drives, and then restart greyhole? Anything I"m missing?

Any input appreciated!!

Your plan should work fine. There are various Greyhole command options you can use to reconstruct the drive properly. There's one for checking for broken links, missing files, etc.

Yep, it seems to have to worked fine... Thanks. Used gparted for deleting the extra partition and extending the other one.
