Just a note.
I've upgraded to 0.9.20 and it appears to run ok SO FAR.

Update at your own risk !!

Every time i've updated, it has broken the links and made my shares inaccessible.

JUST RE-INSTALL THE UPDATE AGAIN. This fixes things.

hda-greyhole is the amahi specific version of greyhole.

Are they not maintained as different branches? ISTR reading recently that, to get the latest version of Greyhole, you're better off loking at Greyhole's own repo??

hda-greyhole is maintained and kept in sync by the greyhole developer. For every version of greyhole in the greyhole repor you have the same hda-greyhole version.

So, the latest hda-greyhole version is available in the greyhole repo. The version in the amahi repo is outdated.

bigmango, thanks for clearing that up! That's effectively what I thought, but was thrown by the "naming" (ie because it has "hda-" in the title, I thought that was the Amahi-specific one, rather than the mainstream version).

BTW, what's the easiest way to tell what version of Greyhole you have? The greyhole command doesn't seem to display this, and I can't see it anywhere in mySQL either.

You can do the version is at the top of the output.

Please keep in mind that HDA integration has not been thoroughly tested with the latest Greyhole version by the Amahi team. While we do not suspect it will cause any problems, we cannot guarantee it will work flawlessly with the latest HDA platform.

For those who are using the latest version, please let us know how it is working. If you had any issues upgrading, we would be interested to hear those as well.

For those who are using the latest version, please let us know how it is working.

I have been regularly updating to the latest version in the greyhole repo during the past year. It works great. With the amahi version I had serious problems when quickly renaming and moving files which would cause the files to get lost with no way to recover them. With the newer greyhole versions from the greyhole repo these issues seem to be gone.

Awesome. Were you running the mount_shares_locally script when these problems occurred? Did you do these rename/moves from the HDA or using a client?
