Stop using Greyhole

Postby moncapitaine » Sun Jan 15, 2012 6:57 am

Hi,

I want to create a new hda and therefore dismantle the old one.
How do I "uninstall" Greyhole and move all the files to directories of the disks outside gh?

My landing zone is /var/hda/files, do i have to move it out of the pool first?

Just wanting to recover all my media files on one two drives to be sure, the drives are not going back in the new server.
Celeron G530, 8GB RAM, Intel SDD 80GB system, 8TB Storage. Fileserver and Mediaserver.

check the wiki.amahi.org for removing drives from greyhole.

As you request to move drives, greyhole will make sure the copies of the files are moved to the remaining drives. Each time you remove a drive with the command, you fill the next available drive. Make sure you have sufficient space on the last drive. I would suggest to remove the smallest drives from the pool first. Once you can't go further before spilling over a drive, and they're done copying, remove the drives and the full ones that remain should have all your data on them, just in the folder structure and file system you originally created in Amahi/Fedora (likely ext3/4 and within /var/hda/files/drives/???? ).
