I have read through similar posts and can't seem to get this repaired using any of the advice from them.
I have most of my shares setup the common way with most of my shares presiding on /var/hda/files/drives/drive1,2&3. However when I was copying files from my first NTFS disk I inadvertently copied them to /home and since it was over a terabyte of data I just left it there and I've had no problem accessing them for over a month but yesterday most of the files have disappeared from the directories. There are a few small files which are still accessible but most of them are gone. Needless to say I'm freaking out about this because I've spent years collecting these (mostly movies and tv shows)! Please HELP!

The following is the number of pending operations that the Greyhole daemon still needs to parse.
Until it does, the nature of those operations is unknown.
Spooled operations that have been parsed will be listed above and disappear from the count below.

It looks as if greyhole has copied some but not all of the files to the gh folders on drives 1 and 2
Directories listed but files missing
Re: Directories listed but files missing
Ok, so it looks like the files are spread over all of the gh folders. I found a large portion of them in /home/gh/ CAN SOMEBODY GIVE ME A AMEN AND THANK YOU JESUS!!!!
Big question is why did gh move them from their original folder? Was it because I was using the home folder and not var/hda/files/drives?
Next is how do I get them where they belong? Do i just have to manually copy them one at a time?

Re: Directories listed but files missing
I recently installed Amahi and on my initial copy I had the same issues. Folders/directories would be retained but files would disappear after a reoot (set is a 4x2TB Greyhole share system). I suspected I did not add the drive correctly so I went back and started attaching the drives again from scratch using the Wiki tutorial. The files appear to be retained now but I am very nervous they could just disappear again and I am tempted to go to mdadm Raid5 setup. I am a Linux newbie and thus am just hacking right now by following directions specified here on the site to get my setup configured. Can someone reassure me I simply screwed up the initial install and that by mounting the drives based on the tutorial I will have a robust Greyhole storage system?
Re: Directories listed but files missing
It may be that something did not go well the first time. I have been using Greyhole for quite some time and never lost any files.

Re: Directories listed but files missing
Hi,
i just had a quick look on your configuration and for mee it seems, that GH works correctly.
You told GH to ad your home/gh into the pool, which means it should store files in it.
That's they way GH works: Move files from their original location into the pool and only leave links to the files back in the share.
What was your expectation?
I looks like you messed up your configuration a little bit. It's a litte complex configuration you have since your shares are spread across several HDs.
But don't worry, no files are lost. They are just on places you do not expect to be;-)
I will have a closer look on your configuration tomorrow.

Re: Directories listed but files missing
Hiho,
Ok, in your greyhole.conf you told greyhole to use /home/gh as a pool directory
--> 21.storage_pool_directory = /home/gh, min_free: 10gb
22.storage_pool_directory = /var/hda/files/drives/drive1/gh, min_free: 10gb
23.storage_pool_directory = /var/hda/files/drives/drive2/gh, min_free: 10gb
24.storage_pool_directory = /var/hda/files/drives/drive3/gh, min_free: 10gb
Why has GH using this folder? Here is the answer
By default GH will store the files on the disk with the most free space.
/home/gh has now 687GB free space. Before GH has copied the files into /home/gh ist should be more and i guess it was more free space than on the other drives. That's why GH decided to copy the files to this directory.
Storage Pool
Total - Used = Free + Attic = Possible
/home/gh: 1783G - 1005G = 687G + 0G = 687G
/var/hda/files/drives/drive1/gh: 1834G - 1052G = 689G + 6G = 695G
/var/hda/files/drives/drive2/gh: 917G - 175G = 696G + 2G = 697G
/var/hda/files/drives/drive3/gh: 587G - 0G = 557G + 0G = 557G
