Missing tombstones

Postby davidjmurray » Tue Aug 02, 2011 10:52 pm

Due to a power failure and a drive with bad sectors (it was a long week), I now have files (many files appears to be the case) missing from the shares.

I can find the file within the gh directory on the actual drive, but the tombstone has vanished, along with the link within the share.

A greyhole fsck does not seem to pickup the file (due to the missing tombstone?) and hence, the link within the share is not rebuilt.

Is there a method to get greyhole to rebuild a tombstone?

This is on Amahi with greyhole 0.7.5:

uname -r; rpm -q samba hda-greyhole
2.6.32.26-175.fc12.x86_64
samba-3.4.9-60.fc12.x86_64
hda-greyhole-0.7.5-1.x86_64

Thanks in advance

You can run an fsck with the --find-orphaned-files option which is made to find files in the gh folder which do not have tombstones.

That option for fsck does not appear within the help of greyhole.

I ran another fsck anyway with that option and nothing happened.

What version of Amahi is that option available for?
