I am new to linux and trying to setup Amahi to more or less replace WHS, but I am not afraid to get my hands dirty when it comes to computing.
I deleted all my files from the shares. I had two additional USB drives attached (using one of the guides online on adding drives to the HDA) and part of the pool. Then one of the drives had issues, so I had to unplug the drives. I removed them from the pool by unchecking them in the amahi web GUI as well as removing the lines from the config file.
Still on the "home" drive which is a partition on the root drive, it is still full 20+ gigs. I believe the home drive is the landing zone as well as the attic? I am not 100% sure though. I manually deleted all the files off of the home drive and still shows as 20+ gigs taken up, but no files are listed. It also registers on the amahi storage tab that 20+ gigs are used.
I hope I made some sense in my blabbing.
I am at a loss as I have been researching this for the last couple of days.
If you have any suggestions or ideas, I would greatly appreciate you time and advice.
Have a great day.
Andy

"but I am not afraid to get my hands dirty when it comes to computing." You have no idea how dirty
I do not know how big your drives are, but i just yesterday found my answer to a similar question. If you use Ext3 or 4 the system will reserve 5% of the drive by default.
It was easy to turn it of, and i did on the drives that are a part of the greyhole share, because they do not contain any operating system. And for the first time the numbers of free space are matching the drives, and the Amahi dashboard.
Could this be a part of your problem?
Protip: Move the landing zone to the biggest disk ASAP.

Re: All files deleted but 20gigs still take up?
Vertigo500, thank you so much for your advice!
More information about my situation:
At this point, I only have the one physical drive in the computer and it's only 70gigs. 45gigs is the root partition and 25 gigs is mounted as the home drive.
The root partition shows as 5gigs being used which makes sense because the OS is there. However, the home partition has 20gigs of info on it and it was part of the pool and the landing zone is in /var/hda/files so I assume that is on the home drive. I manually deleted the files in the landing zone in the Nautilus GUI which was 20gigs (it was all my photos that I transferred from my media computer, but don't worry, I transferred them back before trying to delete them off amahi server).
The strange part of all this is that even though I deleted the files and nothing in /var/hda/files the 20gigs is still taken up. Any thoughts or ideas? I want to get this figured out before I add drives back to the server. LOL
Lets get my hands dirty!!!! Bring it on! LOL

Did you empty the attic(trash)? Check your stats.

I had an similar experience before, and i was recently told it could have something to do with file permissions. I just gave up on finding out what the last space was back then, i had other things to worry about. It took me 3 attempts before i got it right. If you have everything backed up, i would not worry about it, just reinstall.
There are probably someone here who can tell you whats going on, but its summertime, so it can take a while. I once ran out of space on the main drive with landing zones and operating system on same drive, and did not get it started again, so beware of landing zone placement. When doing large transfers, it can take a long time to place the files on the greyhole shares.
If u have noticed, u get asked for the root password evere 2 seconds when you are doing things directly on the server, wich by the way is not recomended after proper setup. The sweet thing is, that after that, the server will run for months or more without restart.
