Starting again, best way to clear Greyhole Pool

I am going to re-start my file server, and want to wipe out the Greyhole pools.
Ideally I would like to just delete the contents of each file share, but remember reading about a 'attic' or something, and want to make sure I get as much storage as possible to start re-transferring the data. Also I did the convert to MySQL, and want to make sure that the database is OK after the cleaning.
1) on each share stop using the pool
2) stop Greyhole,
2) remove all drive from the pool,
3) reformat drives,
4) start Greyhole,
5) add drives
Since the shares are pointed at the Landing Zone will at step 1 Greyhole move the files from the /
var/hda/files/drivex to the LZ?
any thought, thanks.
