Many thanks,

shall we just go here: http://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2439 ?

I rebooted the server before I got your latest response and can't even get past the boot-up screen now.

Getting an error message re GNOME power manager not being installed correctly and needing to ask the admin.

It's all falling to pieces it seems.

Best,

Ralf

Ralf

Ralf, this *may* or may *not* help (because your error message is different to what I got!), but when I removed a drive and then rebooted, it wouldn't boot up properly because an entry in the /etc/fstab file was no longer there. To get around this, I had to edit fstab, but it was "read-only" at this stage, so I followed the instructions on the following link:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/archive/i ... 44176.html

The core bit you're looking for is this:
If /etc/fstab is correct, you can simply type:

mount -n -o remount /

If /etc/fstab is wrong, you must give the device name and possibly the
type, too: e.g.

mount -n -o remount -t ext2 /dev/hda2 /

Thanks HTH,

appreciate your contribution and I've reinstalled Fedora and Amahi already so no longer can try your suggestion.

Thanks again.
best,
Ralf
