Hi,
First things first,Im new to amahi and indeed linux. Ive jsut set up amahi and when i go into the shares tab, pick a share it doesnt give me an option for file duplication. When i go into share/storage pool. it just lists one item with a total space of 3.7 tb. I have 3 drives installed, one 160gb one with the OS on and 2 2tb ones for storage, when i installed fedora, i just left it all as default, i think. Should i be able to get greyhole working throught the GUI or does it need tinkering via command line? Any pointers would be appreciated.

Hello,
Have you read:
http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Adding_ ... o_your_HDA ??
I guess you can call that ' tinkering via command line' .....

Re: geyhole not showing all my disks
Hi,
Thanks for the reply, yes i did have a look at that but, i wasnst sure if that was for people who wanted to add a disk after you had installed amahi. I had all my disks installed before i installed fedora/amahi so i assumed that they would all be picked up during the installation.
ill go have another read, the server is running headless at the mo and i dont even know how to access the command line from remote computer.

If you are running Windows on the remote computer, download 'putty' (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgta ... nload.html). Save it on your desktop and start it. Fill in 'hda' (or the ip address of it) at the 'hostname' box. That should be all there is to it. Hit 'open' and log into you server as 'root' (with the root password)the server is running headless at the mo and i dont even know how to access the command line from remote computer.

Thanks, ive got putty on now. What im still not clear about is if i should be following the instructions in the link you posted as to me that looks like what you do to add a drive after the os is installed.
Below is a cut and paste of the first command in the link
[root@server ~]# ls -1 /dev/disk/by-id/

Re: geyhole not showing all my disks
If you left the settings as default when you installed, it most likely installed as "LVM" or "logical volume manager". From what you are describing, that is most likely your problem.
I am not going to go into details on how to fix it because it is complicated. The easiest solution would be to do a reinstall and only have the drive you want the OS installed on in the PC at the time of installation. Then follow the instructions on the wiki for adding a second hard drive.
If any of the developers want to chime in and detail on how to remove a drive from lvm, please do.

Thanks for the reply,
I dont mind re-installing the server, so ill give it a whirl when i have a spare hour or two, i would much prefer to do that at the moment rather than do something complicated that might be beyond me anyway.
