files missing over night (probably after sync)

Postby UweSchmeer » Sun Jan 09, 2011 4:52 am

H,

I'm very new in Linux and Amahi and I need your help. I've added all my data to the greyhole storage pool and I just realized, that some files are missing now. I can still see the folder, but the files are missing.

I read a couple of posts in the Forum, but can't use the debug command as I don't remember the filename.

Hope you can help me out here as I don't know how to troubleshoot the problem:

Try this, from a command line, as root:

Code: Select all

greyhole --fsck
If the files come back, you're clear. This shouldn't happen again.
You'll need to wait until fsck completes to verify: wait until /var/log/greyhole.log stops logging fsck lines, and starts logging sleeping lines.

If you're still missing files, try:

Code: Select all

greyhole --debug some_folder_name
Where some_folder_name is an empty folder that you know should contain files.
