hello,
I just installed a new Amahi server for replacing my old one (new hardware > less energy). I noticed that when opening the dashboard: 'setup > storage > disks' I only see the systemdisk/landingzone disk (sda). The 2 disks included in the greyhole pool (sdb/sdc) are not there. I can see them in the 'setup > storage > partition section. I know they where there on my old server, because i checked for temperature regularly. Is this something new and 'by design' or did something go wrong? I used the express CD (F12) for installation, also used that for my old server.
System: 2.6.32.26-175.fc12.i686 , i386
Platform:5.6.11-1
Core:3.6-1
Richard
PS: already posted this in the 'installation' forum, but 'Bigfoot65' thought it was greyhole related and suggested posting it here. Sorry for double posting
EDIT: That's odd... just checked it and the 'disks' indication is back (?) (maybe because I restarted the server yesterday), but without temps. Could it be that these disks don't support that feature?? (see attach). The sda disk is older than the sdb/sdc disks.

Re: Missing 'disks' indication in dashboard
Pff,
This seems to have solved itself. First the indication came back and now the temps. The latter could be that the temps can't be read if the disks are sleeping ?
Anyway, I consider it SOLVED.
Richard
PS: it seems to be rather cold in the attic - the real one, not greyhole's (see attach)

Re: Missing 'disks' indication in dashboard
I have the same problem. I did:
service hddtemp start [OK]
but have still missing 'disks' indication in dashboard.

Re: Missing 'disks' indication in dashboard
The disks have gone idle and possibly entered a standby mode, hddtemp should not wake them to check temp therefore the entries will be blank.
Simply accessing the drive then refreshing the monitoring page will populate the values.

Re: Missing 'disks' indication in dashboard
I'm not sure I believe the "idle" reasoning. My disks are set to go idle after 5 minutes of inactivity, which means most of them should be off 95% of the time. However, my dashboard shows all of the temperature sensors.
Re: Missing 'disks' indication in dashboard
jehali, if your not even seeing the drive listed at all this isn't the standby situation, even when in standby mine are shown on the screen.
DragonQ, maybe your using less aggressive -B settings for hdparm. My drives sleep, rather than idle.

Re: Missing 'disks' indication in dashboard
I'm just using hdparm -S 60 /dev/sda, not using the -B switch at all.
As far as I can tell though, there's no actual way to know if a drive is asleep or not...

Re: Missing 'disks' indication in dashboard
At the end of all I re-installed my HDA and the disks are now visible again.
