Yes. Serves no purpose to let it eat CPU cycles for nothing...

i split the thread by request from mouton, however, it seems like that caused the software to lose the images. maybe you can repost them? (preferably in .jpg or .png format, not .tiff, which is very large typically?)

is there some way you can come by the IRC again? http://talk.amahi.org or #amahi in freenode.

i will read the thread in the mean time in more detail.

Please apply this patch, and start greyhole using strace.

Code: Select all

curl -o ~/gh.patch "http://fpaste.org/u9mL/raw/" (cd /usr/bin/; patch < ~/gh.patch) strace /usr/bin/greyhole --daemon
Then check the greyhole.log file when strace is thrown into a loop:

Code: Select all

tail -100 /var/log/greyhole.log | fpaste

Just wanted to update this thread for the sake of forum readers.

Following a session on http://talk.amahi.org with Mouton and CPG we resolved this issue.

All 3 drives are now balancing and sharing the workload, with everything looking great !

Thanks Guys.

Did the patch fix the issue? I'm having the same problem.

Thanks!

to be honest, i'm not sure it was the patch, I think it was the instructions Mouton gave me via IRC.

Basically in my case, i needed to remove the / drive from the pool and then (via terminal) instruct greyhole to move the files in smaller chunks rather than trying to move everything as 1 big single batch.

i'd like to give you the code and help, but as I don't really understand it, your best bet is to go to the irc channel ad try and catch Mouton.

it only took him a very short time to diagnose and fix my system, the guy is a genius. :-)

Good Luck
