what is the best way to acces the shares from Windows?

Using a Terminal on the HDA, logged in as "jochen", do this:

ls -la /var/hda/files/Pictures touch /var/hda/files/Pictures/test rm /var/hda/files/Pictures/test

If the last 2 commands work, your permissions are fine.
Did you try to copy a new file in the root of the Pictures share, remotely ?

If the above commands work, and creating files from the remote share doesn't, maybe your Samba permissions are wrong. Go in your Amahi Dashboard, in the Shares page, and check to make sure that jochen has write access to the Pictures share.

I feel so STUPID!

for some reason the "writable" option in the permissions settings was not set.

So it was set to "all users" , but the "writeable" was unchecked...

I disconnected my windows share, reconnected and now everything seems fine!
