I'm also running CrashPlan and I want to start using Greyhole.

Autumnwalker - so you moved all the files CrashPlan had created onto the Greyhole share, but did you also have to configure CrashPlan in any way to save new files to the Greyhole share?
Did you go with the "mount shares locally" approach?

A lot of documentation available for Greyhole but quite easy to get lost when you try to read it all... :?

If you want to write files to your Greyhole pool from your server you have to mount locally, there's no way around it.

Ok, thanks.

So I mount the share locally and then I can just use /mnt/samba/sharename instead of /var/hda/files/sharename for the programs running on the server?

I run CrashPlan on the server and also I have an rsync srcipt running on another box to copy files over ssh every night to one of the shares.

I mounted the shares locally and pointed CrashPlan to the mounted Samba location. Works great.
