You could try:

That should set a root password. To test it, do:

Enter the password you just set.

I'm newbie to this system. I like Amahi so much but sometimes to resolve one issue could cause a bunch of other issues. This makes me frustrated every now and then. But thanks Bigfoot for your dedication, otherwise I know nowhere to go.
