Code: Select all

greyhole -f
will force it to move files from the LZ.
this hasn't been working for me, but I'll give a go & let you know.

ok, it didn't work to re index/link the files, but it appears to be working for this. Excellent.

There are other command options you can use to force scan to fix symlinks and such. Just enter greyhole and it will show you all the available options/switches you can use.

Next issue: greyhole transfers are dreadfully slow. I think this might be why even with a ~45GB LZ I was having issues. Is this normal?

Some stats:

Code: Select all

top - 20:22:42 up 1 day, 1:48, 2 users, load average: 2.26, 2.39, 2.08 Tasks: 114 total, 5 running, 109 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie %Cpu(s): 6.7 us, 18.7 sy, 0.0 ni, 32.4 id, 39.1 wa, 1.2 hi, 2.0 si, 0.0 st KiB Mem: 3050772 total, 2972260 used, 78512 free, 1081348 buffers KiB Swap: 2113532 total, 161596 used, 1951936 free, 1554180 cached

I'm assuming this isn't normal for greyhole, but figured I'd check all my basis. The system is a 2.0 Ghz Duo Core w/3GB 800mhz ddr2, on an ATI x1250 based motherboard (what I think the source of my problems are)

Going to try and figure out if I can track down some drivers for it.

Would love to hear if anybody has any ideas/feedback/help.

Honestly I never pay any attention to the speed it copies files. I typically drop and forget LOL It could be a driver issue I suppose.

yah, we'll see -- it looks to be fast enough once everything is balanced out.

Another question -- Greyhole doesn't report the version #, it states something like %version% at the top of commands. Does Greyhole get modifed for Amahi? How can i update it/reinstall the correct version?

Also, Greyhole seems not to be using all of my drive (i've tried the conf with both 5gb and 10gb it doesn't change)

Code: Select all

Storage Pool Total - Used = Free + Trash = Possible /var/hda/files/drives/drive1/gh: 1834G - 1700G = 40G + 0G = 40G /var/hda/files/drives/drive2/gh: 1834G - 1701G = 40G + 0G = 40G /var/hda/files/drives/drive3/gh: 1834G - 1700G = 41G + 0G = 41G ========================================== Total: 5501G - 5101G = 120G + 0G = 120G
Solved, i think:

Code: Select all

df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sdd6 48G 1.9G 44G 5% / devtmpfs 1.5G 0 1.5G 0% /dev tmpfs 1.5G 0 1.5G 0% /dev/shm tmpfs 1.5G 516K 1.5G 1% /run tmpfs 1.5G 0 1.5G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup tmpfs 1.5G 20K 1.5G 1% /tmp /dev/sda1 1.8T 1.7T 37G 98% /var/hda/files/drives/drive1 /dev/sdb1 1.8T 1.7T 39G 98% /var/hda/files/drives/drive2 /dev/sdc1 1.8T 1.7T 37G 98% /var/hda/files/drives/drive3 /dev/sdd1 190M 61M 115M 35% /boot /dev/sdd2 95G 60M 91G 1% /home none 4.0M 40K 4.0M 1% /var/spool/greyhole/mem
Looks like GH doesn't report something correctly ...

If you suspect a bug with Greyhole, report it on the authors Web site.

I will. I had a question that got lost in my posting above -- what version of Greyhole is Amahi using, and what modifications are done to it? Or are there no mods right now? Can i pull a copy from Greyhole, or do I need to get it via Amahi?

Thanks.

Amahi 7 is using 0.9.49 and there are no real mods. We disable the Greyhole phone home and not sure if there is anything else.

You can only use Amahi provided versions. This should be the latest version available.
