RESOLVED: Pool created. No files in Pool.

Postby lankantech » Mon Mar 25, 2013 10:24 am

I have Ubuntu w/amahi which is sitting on a 200gb HD and I have three 500-750GB in my pool. I moved over 50gb worth of data but it is sitting on my main HD not in my pool. So how does it balance ? (I did the -fsck but it doesn't do anything)

Here is my log:

Did you set the number of copies per share? That has to be done or it won't copy anything.

I have set it to "-" <-Meaning it is stored in the pool right ? Or do I have to set it to 1 ?

It should store it in the pool, but not sure if the balance needs to be run:

Code: Select all

greyhole -l
If it were me, I would set to at least 1 copy. Good to have redundancy. Otherwise no real point in using Greyhole as LVM can pool drives as well.

Yes. I agree setting it to "one" would be sensible. So I did as I suggested and still can't get it to balance.

Try doing a fsck again:

Code: Select all

greyhole -f
Tail the log and see if anything happens. If not, then something may be broken. You might consider upgrading Greyhole to the latest version to see if that fixes the problem.

Perfect. It looks like it is balancing now. I am pretty sure I performed a "fsck" prior my earlier reply and nothing happend. Well everything is working.

Thanks for your help :)
