Help cant write new files to pool [Solved]

Postby thisguy859 » Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:22 am

I'm very new to linux and don't really know what I'm doing. I originally had all my data on a xp machine but after getting some new drives I decided that I wanted to have all my data on one share but without the risk of complete data loss of Raid 0. Greyhole seemed to solve all my problems. I did a default install of ubuntu server 11.04, formatted the new drives and installed greyhole-0.9.9-1.i386.deb and added the new 1.5 TB drives to the pool. I then set the old drive as the landing zone and then ran greyhole --fsck so that it would begin spreading my data to the two new drives. After a lot of hours greyhole said it was finished and I tested it out. Everything was working perfectly! I could access all my data and even upload new stuff. I then decided to format the old drive to ext4. I made a copy of the landing zone folder and copied it back to the newly formatted drive

And then everything went wrong.

Now whenever I copy a file to the share from my windows 7 64 I get a "The specified network name is no longer available" on teracopy. I then browse the share and the file is right there and I can read it fine but greyhole is locked out from those files. I read online that maybe this is a permission problem? Please someone help.

Ok I used this fix and it took care of the repeating locked file oh and the errors in teracopy? Last week I installed a new wireless driver for my laptop. Reinstalled old one and now everything is working perfectly

I'm loving it!
