I seem to have a weird greyhole issue. I have a directory inside of a share that I want to delete. When I do delete the file from finder (on a mac) it shows like its gone, but after a few seconds it comes back?!? I have about a gig of data I need to erase (moved it to another share) but every time I delete it, it just starts reappearing. Why's it doing this and how can I delete the data permanently? I don't need this data in 2 places, and I don't know why it keeps replicating the data.
Thanks!
Greyhole won't let me delete stuff?

Again, do a search:

There's a wealth of information on the forums if you look for it. If you try the advice in the posts you find and it still doesn't work, then people will be happy to answer questions.

Re: Greyhole won't let me delete stuff?
My issue isn't a permissions problem, I can delete the files but when I run an fsck they all come back. That link you gave was about not being able to delete anything because of permission issues, that's not my issue.
Re: Greyhole won't let me delete stuff?
Those details make it a different question, probably something best included with your original question, the more information you can provide, the better.
Speaking of which, more information is needed here. When you say you're deleting these files via finder in OSX, what exactly do you mean? Are you mounting the share in OSX via samba? If not, it would make sense that files are showing back up during an fsck since Greyhole would never see the delete.
If you are mounting through Samba, have you looked at the Greyhole log to see what actually happens on the server side when you do the delete? The only way an fsck will would bring these files "back" is if the tombstones and file copies weren't removed, which it should do when you do that delete via samba.

Re: Greyhole won't let me delete stuff?
This problem seemed to have resolved itself. I think the greyhole service was wonky, restarting it and restarting the server fixed it.
