I have a plan for my Amahi server as you can see below:
I have the following drives and would like suggestions fort the best way to mount them and maximize my Greyhole performance.
My drives:
My 80 gig root is partiioned into root "/" 25 gigs not in pool, and /var 49 gigs in pool.
Another IDE is 150 gig will be added to pool
1 sata = 1.5 will be in pool
1 sata = 1.5 will be in pool
1 USB attached 1.5 gig in pool (I would like the ability to move when needed...this will have family pictures and kids video)
1 usb attached 1gig in pool (I would like the ability to move when needed...this will have family pictures and kids video)
1. Does it matter for performance if the satas are mounted as drives 3 or 4 and the USB drives 5 and 6 or any suggestions?
2. For the best performance which would be the best drive to set Greyhole to load temporary files?
3. If I want to add one more usb drive every so often so I can load movies to play with my WDTV when I travel. I don't want to screw up the Greyhole files so what do you suggest I mount a local share to move files into this usb without screwing up. (Alternatively if I simply add the usb drive to my win7 machine I aould just move files across the net work and it wouldn't screw up Greyhole at all)?
4. Where would you suggest I have crashplan save in this configuratiion?
5. (off topic) If I want to stream music from my server to my phone. Shoudl I go without VPN (I have treid every guide to getting my OpenVPN to work on my droid1) or is it okay to stream over the net using my yourhda address?
Thank you!

Re: Drive mount order and sticky files.
Doesn't matter.1. Does it matter for performance if the satas are mounted as drives 3 or 4 and the USB drives 5 and 6 or any suggestions?
One of the two SATA. Or both (landing zone is per share, so you can spread them on many drives if you want.)2. For the best performance which would be the best drive to set Greyhole to load temporary files?
Mounting that USB drive locally on the Amahi server, or on any client computer will work.3.
Locally mounted drives won't be included in the Greyhole pool until you go in the Storage pool page, and add them manually.
I save my CrashPlan backups in a CrashPlan share. I freeze that share (another advanced feature of GH; see the default config file on Google Code for some details), and thaw it once a day using cron. This prevents GH from working all day long on files that always change.4. Where would you suggest I have crashplan save in this configuration?
