Looking for Amahi Mail System Testers

Postby bigfoot65 » Fri May 13, 2011 5:19 am

Greetings,

I have been diligently working on a mail server solution for Amahi. I think I have one that works fairly well. However I am in need of some volunteers to help test it. I hope to improve it with feedback as well.

See http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_Mail_System for specifics.

Anyone who is interested, please PM me with your amahi.org user name and I will give you access.

Now, keep in mind this is in ALPHA status. I have thoroughly tested this in 32- and 64-bit virtual machines with no issues. The uninstall will completely remove all traces of the application so there is minimal risk involved in my opinion.

bigfoot,

is this for a single domain mail endpoint? or multiple domains?

This is a virtual user mail system, so you can add one or many domains. Check out the link referencing the tutorial I used at the bottom of the wiki page.

Hope that answers your question. I am still a rookie at all this, so hoping to make it a robust add on for Amahi at some point.

Folks, due to some issue with using the http://mail URL in Amahi I have updated the app to now use http://ams. If anyone has tried the app and had problems, this should correct it.

I did all my testing on a VM and it worked fine, but when going to a live box that issue appeared. Sorry if I caused anyone any headaches. That's what I get for not testing on a live box

Still looking for testers? I run an older version of amahi on fedora 12. I do have a fully qualified domain.

Yes, but unfortunately it has to be Amahi 6 on Fedora 14. The app will not work on Fedora 12.

This is an Amahi app in testing which is pretty much the same as an add on.
