XPUD - boots but no X-server

This seems to be a common problem on the Xpud forums, with no solutions.

Apparently Xpud is designed only for Intel graphics chips???

Isn't it possible in 2010 to have a simple pxe-booting Linux that "just works", without all the fuss? Don't need screensavers, power management, DVD players, geekiness...just basic live Linux with a web browser (and solitaire ;->).

I have seen this same problem on my machines. I chose the safeboot option and then it worked fine. Have you tried that one?

We are interested in your feedback and thanks for testing.

I see no safeboot menu in Xpud... As soon as I choose "english" it boots.

I will have to look into it more. Sorry its not working. Have you tried Redo Backup and Recovery. It is basically xPUD with an extra capability to backup/restore.

Maybe it will work for ya better.

Yes, and I'm glad you mentioned it because I wasn't sure.

ReDo Backup/Restore is SWEET.

It works *great* on the same client machine (old P4 with Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS). I did a backup/-wipe-disk/restore with it last night as a test.
