hdaconnect on xp

Postby pbecks1963 » Thu Jan 08, 2009 4:07 am

Hello,

I have got hdaconnect running on my xp-pc (at work). I use it to go to http://zina/ and play my favourite music (on the amahi-server at home) at work. Or check my torrents/downloads..

What else can i do with this vpn-connection? I use freenx to connect remote to a X-session on the server, so i can access the drives that way. That's not possible/the object of VPN is it? I sort off feel that i have got 2 secure connections with my server at home (freenx/hda-connect) while ONE should be enough (?) (NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING! I LOVE AMAHI!)

with the VPN connected, you are virtually in your home network, so

Code: Select all

\\hda
would give your folders, and you can access everything else.

we can't do anything about that :)

it's probably because you are pulling data from a dsl line or similar, *upstream*, which is usually an order of magnitude slower than the downstream speed.
