VPN Connecting to Server

I have hit a problem when trying to access my home server remotely.
I have forwarded port 1194 as required and installed HDAconnect3 on the client PC.
The client PC is running XP SP3

HDAconnect successfully connects to the server and I get a green icon in the app tray. If I hover over the icon I get:
HDAConnectGUI
Connected To: HomeHDA
Connected Since: Oct 07, 14.33
Assigned IP 10.8.0.6

However I cannot seem to access the server.

I have tried via IE and https://xxx.yourhda.com but get the message IE cannot display the webpage
If I try to navigate to \\hda or \\xxx.yourhda.com from windows I get the message - the network path was not found or windows cannot find \\xxx.yourhda.com

However I can ping 10.8.0.6 successfully

I have changed Firewall settings and tried with the Firewall off, with no luck.

Also to confirm - I am trying to access from a different network (office) which runs on a diferent IP range to my home network. I am using the actual name of my home server not xxx!

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

you might want to check the server side logs on VPN errors.

you should try http://hda.home.com (assuming home.com is your chose domain for within your home network).

Thanks for the comments but I'm no further forward. Where do I go to view the error log?

Is it worthwhile trying HDAConnect2 instead?
