Hey you beat me to it!! I got with my IT guy yesterday and we basically did the same thing. The only difference is that I was able to access my files directly from a Windows Explorer window. I typed "\\hda" into the window and when it popped the login request up I typed my home domain name in followed by a back or forward slash(can't remember which) then my username all in the first line then entered my password. Works like a charm!!
I wasn't able to map the drive, but I didn't try the assigned IP. I'll give it a try.
