SOLVED: Can't copy file to server

Postby wyzard » Sun Jan 18, 2015 9:59 am

Good morning.

I'm trying to copy a 2.2 GB file to my Amahi server. I'm using Greyhole on my server and have two 2TB drives installed for storage. Each drive shows that it has 1.32TB free space (the same free space due to the mirroring of Greyhole).

When i try to copy the file it begins copying it but then a message pops up saying it needs 1.76GB of space to copy file. I have copies files larger than this before so I'm confused on what is going on or what needs to be done.

Thanks.

It's probably related to the Greyhole Landing Zone or LZ. If there is not enough room there, it will not copy. Has nothing to do with how much space are available on your Greyhole drives.

What would make it be able to copy a large file yesterday and not today?

I read the information in the link you provided but not sure I follow about moving the LZ. Any more specifics you could provide.

Thanks.

I also noticed that Greyhole is not showing as running on my settings/servers page of my Amahi UI. Any thoughts on that and how do I restart it. Perhaps this could be the problem?

If Greyhole is not running, that could be the issue. You can restart it from the Servers tab in the dashboard. Also recommend you check /var/log/greyhole.log for errors.

You just stated it was there. It may say Greyhole UI server which is Greyhole. You can also do this as root user:

Code: Select all

systemctl restart amahi-greyhole

Tried several things on this one... Still no luck. Things were working fine a few days ago but have suddenly stopped. Here's what I get when trying to copy file. Any suggestions. Not sure why it's not working anymore as nothing has changed. I'm also NOT using the Greyhole UI and not sure if this would provide assistance or not. Thanks.

Have you emptied the Greyhole trash?

Code: Select all

greyhole -a
Check the amount of free space for the OS drive:

Code: Select all

df -h

Ok looks like sdb6 is where the LZ is located unless you relocated it. Notice there is no space left.
