Hi

I'm trying to get openvpn working from s client computer over the net. The problem is I'm getting is cannot resolve hsot address.

I don't know if I'm entering this correctly, but i'm putting nickname.hdadomain as the route. eg test2.somewhere.com
Also cannot connect to my amachi over the internet using the same test2.somewhere.com. I hve had a look on different post, which says it should be http://hda.somewhere.com.
Could someone clarify the way you connect onver the internet and how to enter this into the myvpn.cong file for openvpn on the first line.

What client OS are you using? Have you looked in the wiki?

If using Windows, HDAConnect is the best client for connecting outside the network.

I'm using linux client, the part I'm getting mixed up with is "remote XYZ.yourhda.com 1194" in the myvpn.conf, It looks like I have been replacing this with the nickname and domain.
Will take a look later, to see if this sorts out the problem.

There is also guidance in the wiki for Linux as well. I don't believe there is much you need to do to make things work. I have accessed the HDA from VPN before using Ubuntu and it was a simple setup.

Hi thanks for the reply, now working after putting in the correct Dynamic DNS.
I was getting mixed up with putting in the Nickname and Dynamic DNS together, which I read somewhere.
