I have purchased and installed the app, and have tried to set it up with both an iPhone 5 and an Android running ICS to no joy. The Android simply says Unsuccessful, and the iPhone says that the server is unavailable/reachable (I can't remember which.)
I have just left it at the defaults for all, and am trying to connect from mobile networks.
Any ideas?

Re: IPSec not working at all.
Have you checked the IPSec VPN wiki guidance?

Also, one of the first things to do is make sure the forwarding of the two ports to the IP of your HDA is correct.
Did you check that?

Re: IPSec not working at all.
I have looked at both of these to no avail.
Many Thanks.

Re: IPSec not working at all.
The specific error on an iDevice is 'The VPN server did not respond.'
Re: IPSec not working at all.
Can you give us some details? It's hard to diagnose with little or no information. Check log files and I presume you are running Fedora 14 or Ubuntu 12.04.
There are many things that could be causing issues, firewalls, OS updates, etc so we need details to be able to assist.

Re: IPSec not working at all.
Which log files should I look at?
Re: IPSec not working at all.
Look in the /var/log file directory. I would recommend looking for an IPSec one or check the system or dmesg logs.

Re: IPSec not working at all.
I couldn't find an IPSec log, and the system and dmesg logs are too long to read (I am using a CLI). It doesn't seem that the server is even acknowledging my VPN requests.
Re: IPSec not working at all.
I am sorry, but without any details it is difficult to assist. Have you tried uninstall, reboot, reinstall? Maybe something did not install correctly.
