Recently upgraded from the Fedora 14 version of Amahi to the Ubuntu version.

So for the last 2 years on the F14 version, should I VPN back into the home network from work using HDAConnect on my Win 7 laptop, I was able to use MS Remote desktop to remote into my desktop at home (also win 7). I could see any machine on the home network actually. I could also access my router's configuration interface (192.168.0.1).

Now I can't do either. I can't even ping my desktop (not by name, or IP address).

Can someone explain this/show me how to replace my lost functionality?

I have the same problem. It worked on F14 but doesnt seem to work on Ubuntu. This post has some answer but unfortunately, I am unable to understand what the user awaldram is suggesting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Providing your amahi server is configured to forward then packets from the VPN will arrive at the other servers.

The issues is then the return packets will be delivered to your Default gateway not the tunnel endpoint.

so assuming your hda is 192.168.4.1 and your tunnel end point is 10.8.0.1 then something like

route add -net 10.8.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 192.168.4.1

and you will have access to that server from your VPN.

Alternative

You can also add the redirect to your current default router providing it sophisticated enough to support it.
this will provide access to all you home LAN from the vpn
