I would rather check from the HDA using speedtest.net web site.
I tried that initially (via TeamViewer, using Firefox) but it doesn't seem to work. The site loads and then when I click on a location, the graphics either freeze or disappear lol. I have the latest updates for Firefox and everything else too.

If you want to do file transfers that might be faster, consider trying OpenVPN ALS. It is a clientless VPN app via web browser that you can expose outside your network.

I have used it in the past with great success. Can even get some apps working through it and no need to VPN in with anything other than accessing this app on the HDA.

OpenVPN ALS isn't in the list of available apps (Fedora 14 Amahi).

I believe it has a convenience fee, so you will need to log into amahi.org and pay for it. Once you do, refresh your available apps list and it should appear.
