Hi,
First off, I wasn't sure if I should put this in the vpn or Networking forum...
I recently setup my Amahi HDA but an openvpn session (or daemon?) is running on my client machine for connecting to work computers. This makes it nearly impossible to use the HDA resources from my client machine: web-based resources (http://hda), hda shared drives, etc. I have been able to get to http://hda/ and http://transmission.aaronta.com/transmission/web/ once but hasn't worked since. I can ssh using the IP address of the hda but that is basically it.
Client machine: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-bit
I setup a different Ubuntu machine and I can get to all the hda resources without a problem (it is not running the work openvpn).
See below for what I get using the Amahi network troubleshooter.
Given what I have encountered with my work openvpn, I think my question is:
Is it possible to run more than one openvpn session (daemon?) to have access to both my work and hda resources? Or is there a different/better solution?
Thanks,
Aaron

When initially trying to diagnosis the problem I used the network troubleshooter (http://net.pommepause.com/network_troubleshooter/):
Step 9 (work openvpn running):
$ nslookup hda.aaronta.com
Server: 172.16.0.254
Address: 172.16.0.254#53
** server can't find hda.aaronta.com: NXDOMAIN
Step 9 (work openvpn stopped):
$ nslookup hda.aaronta.com
Server: 192.168.1.10
Address: 192.168.1.10#53
Name: hda.aaronta.com
Address: 192.168.1.10
Step 10 (work openvpn stopped):
$ nslookup hda
Server: 192.168.1.10
Address: 192.168.1.10#53
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: hda.workdomain
Address: 67.###.##.###
Note: I left out the full address because it is probably related to the work domain, didn't think it was a good idea to publish
