Followed troubleshooting and VPN still not working

Postby ontariolta » Fri Dec 17, 2010 8:19 am

I am using TCP as my carrier is listed in the wiki. I added the TLS handshke fix. I tried it today with no success. The log is attached.

Any ideas?

Is port 1194 be forwarded UDP to your HDA IP?

I changed it to TCP 1194 since that's what I am now using.

Maybe that is the problem. I thought it had to be UDP for hdaconnect to work.

Now I am confused. The wiki reads under Moving to TCP to change to 1194/tcp. I did try udp but it didn't work which is why I started following the VPN troubleshooting wiki.

ok, just asking as I do not have an issue with mine and its set to 1194 UDP. I don't see in the wiki where it says to set to TCP.

I have attached the instructions from the wiki that I am using. I have added a comment where it says to change the port forwarding.

Sorry, was not looking at that page. I was going by http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Prevent ... In_OpenVPN.

Is it possible you have a firewall blocking access to that port? Seems that it should have worked out of the box. Maybe you have one of those ISPs that causes these issues, not sure.

What errors were you having when using UDP?

Could it be that the network you are on when trying to VPN to your HDA uses the same IP range as the HDA?

What do you do if the address range is the same as the HDA? What can I change to fix the problem?
