Port forwarded and installed HDAConnect but not working

Postby djchamkila » Fri Jun 18, 2010 9:29 am

Guys,
I have configured my Amahi, forwarded 1194 to my Amahi server in home and I tried using HDA Connect at work to access my HDA, but I am not having sucess. Any ideas? I am attaching my log for more info. Thanks

Make sure you forward UDP and not TCP, its a pretty common mistake.

If that is ok what client OS are you using?

I did forward UDP during port forward in my netgear router.
At work I am using windows XP Professional.
Once thing I forgot to mention at home when I checked dashboard it shows red light for VPN and says inactive next to it.

then most likely something happened with the port forwarding.
I would double check that you are forwarding UDP 1194 to port 1194 on you HDA IP Address
Thats what it check for in the control panel is to see if it can see your hda
Sorry if i sound like a broken record from the wiki :)

Check this in the wiki http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/VPN_troubleshooting. If that does not help, please let us know.

I tried switching to TCP from UDP but no luck. I did see something about vonage adapter could that have any thing to do with it ? I do have another question....I see greyhole is not running is it related ?

oh, i vaguely recall reading that vonage uses 1194 too, so it's not compatible!

the greyhole thing is a minor, unrelated, issue.
