Hi there.
Amahi works like a charm - but (there's always a but - even with two t's ) - i can only connect using the Windows way.
When i try using Open VPN in Ubuntu I fail. And I cannot find the config files that might need tweaking in Ubuntu. Any suggestions?
Funny thing: It worked from Ubuntu before I decided to bridge the network, but then Windows got "wrong" IP adresses....

Hello,

Re: Bridged VPN not working from Ubuntu
My connection from Ubuntu 10 also does not work. I put in the settings and after I close the dialogs, I go to the edit dialog and find all the certificate filenames are replaced with directories from my home folder and the custom port checkbox is now unchecked.
Will try rebooting and see if this persists...

Re: Bridged VPN not working from Ubuntu
I had experienced this issue as well on Ubuntu. A bug has been filed on the Ubuntu tracker for it.
My suggestion would be (at least for 10.04) to try moving those files into a different folder. (I had to move mine into the Downloads folder. Another folder name, such as "VPN," should probably work fine. If that still doesn't work, try removing the connection and re-do the whole sequence, except point the dialog to the ones in that new folder.

Re: Bridged VPN not working from Ubuntu
So VPN (not just bridge VPN) has some issue in 10.04 ?
Sounds like it's not too hard to work around.
I updated the Ubuntu VPN page in the wiki. Feel free to correct if it needs enhancements.

Re: Bridged VPN not working from Ubuntu
Hi All,
Similar problems with Ubuntu 10.04. Except that when I try to connect to my "HDA" connection in network manager I get the error:
"The VPN connection 'HDA' failed because there were no valid VPN secrets."
I've looked around the net and found the following, which has not helped.
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1540278
Could it be due to my HDA still being on Fedora 10? My control panel at Amahi.org shows VPN is enabled.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Is this fixed in Ubuntu 10.10? Willing to upgrade to get this functionality.
Thanks in advance for any help...

Re: Bridged VPN not working from Ubuntu
Turns out a reboot solved the "no valid VPN secrets" problem.
However the connection is now timing out. So I assume I have a setting wrong or since the Alternate Port 1194 setting in the advanced page keeps being unchecked, that might be it. if I figure it out, I'll post back for the next person who has this issue.

Re: Bridged VPN not working from Ubuntu
I have had similar issues with Ubuntu. It was a known issue in 10.04 and was hoping it got fixed in 10.10, but does not appear so.
