one suggestion:

you can download the OpenVPN client for windows.

there are two the 2.0.9 (old - 2006), and the 2.1_rc15 (nov 2008), which has a lot of fixes for vista and may have better chances of working.

you will have to configure it by hand, though (follow the linux or mac directions in the amahi wiki).

yea the newest one. works great on vista. it dose not support 7 yet but i have my laptop dual booted so no problem

There is an updated version of the hdaconnect app with a more recent openvpn component in it. If you still have the need for it please test it and see if it works for you. It should have no problems on windows vista and windows 7, both 32 and 64-bit version.
