Network IP Range - VPN Help!

Postby grover » Mon Nov 02, 2009 8:30 pm

I set up my Amahi server on my home network IP range 192.168.1.* and now I want to access my HDA from outside my home over VPN.

From what I've read - I will probably have problems because of my very common home IP range. Do I have to start all over again or is there an easy way to fix this?

Looking for some help before I do something stupid and mess up my home network. My wife will kill me if she can't get on the internet because I was playing with my server!

Hmm, I am not sure how much of a problem is this with the windows and linux versions of the client.

For the Mac OS X client, being in the same network range seems to be a problem.

We need authoritative answer on this question.

I myself did not encounter this too often (I was at 192.168.0.*). Just in case, I changed my network to something else.

There is a new script called

Code: Select all

hda-change-gw
script (somewhat tested, but please report any issues as it's fairly new). Obviously you want to do this as simultaneously as possible as your router. And restart everything :)
