Version 3 of HDAConnect, available for testing

Postby cpg » Sat Aug 22, 2009 1:41 am

Hi,

We have a beta version of the VPN client for Windows, with support for Windows 7!

We're calling it HDAConnect version 3.0.

Thanks to our contributor tfbox, who put it together. We may tweak it a bit, so feedback is most welcome. Download version 3.0 in this page:

http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/VPNWindows

Specifically, we'd like to test under Windows XP and Vista as well as Win 7, so that we can retire the old versions and have one version only.

Many thanks to tfbox! Please test and report to help with this great job!

Just an observation

I know your not supposed to use hdaconnect this way but when I ran it locally it connected fine - (as far as I know), but it knocked out ms outlook ability to access mail servers.

Thanks anyway :-)

yeah, connecting to your own network via VPN is going to confuse the hell out of your client on how to router packets.

like bending the fabric of space time.

someone in the IRC channel put it nicely too, in a rather more colorful way.

I had dns problems with version 2, but the new version 3 works fine with Windows 7.
Installation was no problem, just as described in the Wiki guide.

I am new to Amahi (3 weeks since first install) and I am very impressed with how everything is running.
