user failed to authenticate

Postby MrMuse » Sat Jan 12, 2013 5:17 am

Hi

I am testing my Express CD headless install by tethering my laptop to my 3g phone and running HDAConnect. Laptop runs win7 pro.

I seem to be able to reach my server because I see the following

AUTH-PAM: BACKGROUND: user 'XXXXXXX' failed to authenticate: error in service module

On HDAConnect I get

Connecting to HomeHDA has failed.

I'm a bit stuck now.

Any ideas?

Hi Bigfoot

I worked my way through that, but I have limited knowledge.

I assume that because I can connect via a 3g signal (because I can see the activity on the server) that I must be getting through the router and hitting the server. So anything about changing port number or tcp to udp is irrelevant?

I don't get "TLS handshake failed" error so I guess I don't need to look at that bit just yet?

Honestly not sure. This may be one of those things that will take some trial and error to sort out.

Would it help to post the HDAConnect log?

What would I need to redact?

Won't help me, but might someone else. I have little experience with VPN so cannot be much help. It may be something on your end blocking things, a firewall maybe?
