Is the VPN connection encrypted by default?

Postby spline » Thu Jan 26, 2012 1:09 pm

Hi all,

i enabled VPN on my hda, set up port forwarding in my router and opend the build in firewall in my router too.

One question. I want to connect to my hda using UMTS. Is the connection automatically encrypted?
I wasn't asked for some key generation neither during installing the windows client nor anywhere else.

I want to use putty, and connect to my shares and want to avoid, that all traffic is unencrypted.

Thanks and regards

VPN connections should be encrypted by default. Seldom/never would any VPN connection be a raw stream of data.

UMTS.... cellular connection ??

Also, any SSH connection is encrypted naturally too.
