turn DHCP off in my router and turned on Amahi DHCP now I can't access HDA from home network. I have to go to physical machine to access HDA Settings. when I type HDA in browser I get routed to http://guide.opendns.com/main?url=hda&w=1600&h=707
Using the Network Troubleshooter, I failed step 11 - Router is reachable from clients?. Here's a paste to help troubleshoot: http://pastebin.com/5pvGL4vG

Re: unable to access shares via VPN
Once you change the DHCP server to the HDA, you need to refresh the DHCP lease on all clients. Sometimes its best to shut it all down and power back up as well, starting with router, HDA, then clients.

Re: unable to access shares via VPN
After restarting Router, HDA and laptop I still have same issue. DHCP is turned off in router and active in Amahi.
I tried to work Amahi 6 months back as well and ran into some issue and gave up and am frustrated again. I need VPN to work before I can set this up and have Amahi take over my NAS needs.
I am attaching screen shot from my router to make sure I am doing correct settings.

Re: unable to access shares via VPN
Are you using a Cisco Linksys router? That's what I am using and looks very similar. DO you have VPN passthrough enabled. Also, I set my 1194 UDP in the Application and Gaming area, not port forwarding. That might help.
Unfortunately there are so many things that could be the cause, firewalls, ISP blocks, etc that its a trial and error sometimes.

Re: unable to access shares via VPN
Mr Bigfoot is there chance we can get this resolved online while you are available. Is there convenient time you will be available...another issue I have now is when I am online in home on laptop I can't access HDA either
Re: unable to access shares via VPN
Yes, but not sure when I will be on next. You might also find some help from others in the IRC. There are many advanced users there typically who can assist.

Re: unable to access shares via VPN
So I tried to reintall whole system allover. Installed sucessfully with following questions and issues.
when I am editing portioning I am not setting it up correctly because only one of my hard drive shows up after install.
I have 300gb primary dirve and 2TB secondary for storage.
second issue: After install I was able to access HDA from laptop. However once I logged off my network on laptop (Which is client machine not one with fedora and AMahi) and logged on from someone else's network and tried VPN (which I was not able to access my Shares) after that when I logged back into my own network I can not access my HDA anymore.
So how can I mount my 2TB Drive back into system or do I need to reinstall system ? and then what is it that I am doing wrong that after using VPN at least once I can not access my HDA from client machines

For your second drive, follow the guidance in the wiki to add it.
http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Adding_ ... o_your_HDA
As for the shares, recommend you try the troubleshooter in the wiki. Also need to ensure your clients are getting their DHCP lease and DNS server from the HDA.

Re: unable to access shares via VPN
Mr Bigfoot I am happy customer as of now. My shares are working as well on VPN. I had to map them \\hda.home.com\docs instead of \\hda\docs
Big thanks to everyone who replied.

Re: unable to access shares via VPN
Ok, did you try the troubleshooters? as well I presume you forwarded port 1194 UDP and not TCP on your router.
I don't see much at the log that helps me give back a direction.
