Hello,
First of all thanks for the EXCELLENT work you'va done so far.
I have installed amahi and used it for a few weeks now, and it suits me perfectly. VPN is working perfectly if I use a
windows Client. I can connect, and access apps without any trouble.
But when I use my fedora 16 laptop to connect to my HDA using VPN I start to have some troubles. my DNS is not working properly, or let say I presume it is my DNS. i can not access http://HDA, but i can access http://192.168.1.2 which is my router. I can ping every machine on my network using their IP, but it is impossible to ping them using name.home.com. But the most annoying part is that, of course, I can not use any apps (with my linux client).
Does anybody have experienced this type of issue? Is there a know way to correct this? Maybe there is a workaround to access my apps?
Thanks for your help, and all the great work

VPN Client running on fedora 16 and DNS
Re: VPN Client running on fedora 16 and DNS
I have heard of a few having this problem. It might be related to being on the same IP subnet outside your network as your HDA is assigned.
Have you tried checking Fedora web site or google for help? It may not be Amahi specific.

Re: VPN Client running on fedora 16 and DNS
Hello BigFoot,
As a matter of fact both my networks are running on the same IP subnet, so this might be the problem when using a linux client, not with a windows client :s
I'll wait a few more weeks for the latest amahi release and install it on a different IP subnet, see how it works then.
In the meantime, do you have any workaround to access my apps with my linux client? defining a specific route?
thanks again

Re: VPN Client running on fedora 16 and DNS
Not sure I can be much help here. If you cannot access them via http://appname.home.com or whatever your domain happens to be, then it might not be possible.
