VPN connects, and works... for about 3 minutes

Postby rbmattis » Thu Jun 09, 2011 9:27 am

My HDA is running a nearly stock installation of Amahi 6. My laptop is running win7 pro w/ HDAConnect3. I can connect quite easily, manage my HDA, UVNC, Ampache, access my SMB shares, After about 3 minutes however, everything stops working. The VPN still shows it's connected, but nothing that requires VPN (for example browsing to http://hda) works. I can click reconnect within HDAConnect and it goes back to working just fine.

Ideas?

It's rather frustrating

Odd....

The problem is worse.

Now I can't even connect via VPN. My amahi control panel says VPN is inactive. amahi says that OpenVPN server is running.

VPN could connect successfully last week, and I haven't altered my Router or HDA. The only change I can think of is installing SABnzbd on another machine on the network, but that shouldn't have affected VPN.

my router is still forwarding UDP port 1194 to my HDA's local ip address. My HDA is reporting the correct external ip address. I tried to ping "xxxxxx.yourhda.com" but it timed out.

I know the router is port forwarding because I can connect to my win7 box directly via Gmote.

ideas?

Sounds like your dynamic DNS may have stopped and rebooting restarted it. You used my solution, when all else fails....reboot LOL
