CLOSED: Dashboard Exception

Postby hemington1 » Sun Aug 04, 2019 10:14 pm

Hello
my son updated Multicraft via the wiki.
The update went well, but now I have a dshboard exception.
I can't find any clues on how to get the dahboard up again.
Should I try to remove the Multicraft install, or is re-install Amahi 11 a better option?

I would try undoling the Multicraft install first. Not all wiki articles are current, so following outdated guidance often breaks the HDA.

Also recommend you check the production log for errors.

Worse case, you may need to reinstall Amahi.

I have deleted Multicraft and removed Multicraft.conf from apache folder. I get Mysq12 access denied errors.

Is it fatal?

Did the MySql password get changed?

That's what it looks like. Also were there any packages removed when you uninstalled the app?

This issue should be fixable, but need to determine the root cause for the error.

My son said he followed the upgrade steps in the wiki exactly.
https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Multicraft
On my part I deleted the install folder /var/hda/web-apps/multicraft/install
Also deleted the folder /var/hda/web-apps/multicraft
Then deleted the Multicraft.conf from apache folder so I could start http successfully.
Trying mysql -u root -p give me the access denied issue using yes as the password. I tried multicraft and my had login passwords with the same error.
How do I check Mysql12 password is 'yes'?

That tells me the root password got changed.

Recommend you check out reset MariaDB root password guidance.

That was so close............
I reset the mysql password to YES,
I can now get to the log in page, but once I try to log into the dashboard I get the exception error.

No password errors, but some connection errors.

This is the MariaDB root password.

That's likely why you get the dashboard error as it cannot read from the database.

Changed password to correct one successfully. Tested password and all good for mariadb.
However, still get dashboard exception.
Back to same access denied for amahihda@localhost using password YES for mysql2.
Are there any other areas of mysql2 that I need to reset to the correct password?
Is there a difference between mysql2 and mariadb in regard to passwords?

Not sure where the mysql2 is coming from.

It sounds like the Multicradft really hosed things up on your HDA.

Recommend you look for log files in /var/log directory that might offer a clue.
