SOLVED: Disk Wizard in Amahi 8 ?

Postby jehali » Sat Sep 26, 2015 10:53 am

Amahi 8 includes a new Disk Wizard app that makes it much easier to expand your storage with additional drives.
The Disk Wizard is an app to manage the disk drives and partitions.
It's a web-based tool accessed from the dashboard from Setup > Disks > Add.
Sorry I cannot find the Add button

Go to Setup and when you see Disks, select it. Below that you will see Devices, Partitions, Add. Not sure how you missed it, but it's there.

Any available drives should show up in the Disk Wizard. If there is nothing there, then the drive is not properly connected.

Yes, that's the question.
It is missing on the place where you say I can find it. I have only Devices, Partitions and Stats , not Add
I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Don't know why there is no Add option. You did install the app, correct?

Try uninstalling the Disk Wizard, then reinstalling. Also do you have any addition drives connected?

Also please see need more information in the wiki guidace and provide the mentioned items if the problem persists.

I can't uninstall it, because it is not possible to install it by means of the Applications menu

The Disk Wizard should be in the Available Apps or Installed Apps section on your HDA dashboard. That is the only way it can be installed as it's not part of the Amahi 8 platform. SInce you don't see Add in the Disk tab, that indicates you have not installed it.

Please see need more information in the wiki and provide more details as requested.

That is just my problem. There is no Disk Wizard in the Available Apps or Installed Apps section on my HDA dashboard.

There should be, near the bottom. Have you refreshed the Available Apps section? You are using Amahi 8, correct? Nothing in Installed Apps?

EDIT: Just a thought, but did you log into amahi.org and then go to Disk Wizard in the app store. There might be a convenience fee which you must pay before you can install the app.

Even after a reboot of the Amahi server and a refresh of the Available Apps section, no Disk Wizard shows up.
Yes I'm using Amahi 8.
Nothing in the Installed Apps too.
After the upgrade to Amahi 8, I reinstalled the apps I used before, without problems.
I don't have to pay a convenience fee.

So, I'm a little confused at this moment..

Not sure why you don't see it then.

Please send me the URL for the following command:

Code: Select all

fpaste --sysinfo
This will help me diagnose the issue.
