Problems with Apps/OpenVPN/Plex MS?

Postby phenie » Fri Dec 12, 2014 10:22 am

Hi all,

I have a fresh install of Amahi 7 running to try and setup, but I seem to be having problems getting pretty much most apps to work :(

For example, I have been trying to setup the OpenVPN app, but I'm hitting problems like so....

amahi-app-installer.log:

http://paste.fedoraproject.org/159185/04447141/

When I try and query the status of OpenVPN, I get this:
[root@localhost log]# sudo systemctl status openvpn@amahi.service
openvpn@amahi.service - OpenVPN Robust And Highly Flexible Tunneling Application On amahi
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/openvpn@amahi.service; enabled)
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Fri 2014-12-12 17:15:50 GMT; 1min 11s ago
Process: 2639 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/openvpn --daemon --writepid /var/run/openvpn/%i.pid --cd /etc/openvpn/ --config %i.conf (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)

Dec 12 17:15:50 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: openvpn@amahi.service: control process exited, code=exited status=1

Dec 12 17:15:50 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Unit openvpn@amahi.service entered failed state.
Also, I can get Plex to install... but it seems to be missing the server component for it, and is just the Plex front end to connect to another PMS server?

Edit: Scrub that about Plex anyway... For some reason there's two interfaces, one at http://plexms.domain.com, and then the full one as usual at http://plexms.domain.com:32400/web/ which gives access to the 'server' stuff.

Any ideas? :/

The errors you see in the app install log should not affect the application. Recommend you try restarting the OpenVPN server via the Servers section in the Settings tab.

EDIT: Plex Media Server uses a web server redirect to make the URL clean. So when you use http://plex.domain.com it should automatically load to http://plexms.domain.com:32400/web/. If it does not, there is something not working correctly.

Often a browser cache purge helps. Also try different browsers.

Restarting from the panel doesn't seem to work umfortunately, the spinner briefly appears but then disappears and the status stays red.

Can't figure out what it is at all with OpenVPN, I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, installing to no avail. :(

Can you try this as root user:

Code: Select all

/usr/bin/systemctl start openvpn@amahi.service
Then do this one and post the results:

Code: Select all

/usr/bin/systemctl status openvpn@amahi.service
