OpenVPN ALS Outside Network

Postby rdagijones » Thu Jul 17, 2014 5:20 pm

Trying to access OpenVPN ALS outside my network. When I put https://aaaa.yourhda.com ("aaaa" being my domain) I get the Fedora Test Page. I have port 4443 forwarded to the server IP. I searched this forum but did not see anything that spoke to this. Any suggestions?

You need to forward port 443 external to port 4443 internal for the HDA IP. Not all routers will allow forwarding in this fashion or it might be called something different.

One router was a bit confusing but I got it. The other router (for the other Amahi in another network) I don't think has the capability. A Netgear N600 will apparently only forward port ranges. I guess that means everything between 443 and 4443 is forwarded to the server. That is a problem with other port forwards. Anyone know of a way to set a different end port on a Netgear N600?

I would look at the instructions for the router on the internet. I bet it has the capability, but it's called something different. My Dlink I used to have was that way, but don't remember the term it used.
